Narva is located in the north of the country, close to the Russian border. Russians make up 95% of the 75,000 inhabitants. As most of the Narva players do not have an Estonian passport, they cannot be called to the national team. Narva's main sponsor is the local automobile manufacturer LTD 'Narva Auto'. Nevertheless, they are in dire straits, which translates into insufficient youth work. The Kreenholm stadium holds only 500 spectators, and the seats do not have any back rest. Therefore Narva will have to play the home games of the UEFA Intertoto Cups in the national stadium of the capital Tallinn, 200 km away. Trans Narva are overshadowed by the three Tallinn clubs Flora, Lantana and Sadam, who usually fight the first three places out among themselves. Only once Narva were able to interfere: 1995 they finished third, their best result ever. Their international appearances are rare, too: in the 1996 UIC, their only occasion, the club of president Nikolai Burdakov clinched their only point, when they tied against Gaziantespor (0:0) after having lost to Lierse, Groningen and Vasas Budapest. -ba

Da die meisten Spieler Narvas keinen estischen Pass haben, stehen sie dem Nationalteam nicht zur Verfügung. Hauptsponsor ist der lokale Automobilkonzern LTD 'Narva Auto'. Trotzdem ist die Finanzlage angespannt, worunter die Jugendarbeit leidet. Das Kreenholm-Stadion bietet lediglich 500 Zuschauern Platz. Die Sitze verfügen über keine Rückenstützen, weshalb das Team seine Heimspiele des UEFA-Intertoto-Cups im 200 km entfernten Nationalstadion von Tallinn austragen muss. Trans Narva steht im Schatten der drei tallinner Klubs Flora, Lantana und Sadam, die die ersten drei Plätze regelmässig unter sich ausmachen. Nur einmal konnte Narva in diese Phalanx einbrechen: 1995 schaute mit dem 3. Rang das bisher beste Ergebnis heraus. International trat der Verein von Präsident Nikolai Burdakov erst einmal in Erscheinung: 1996 holten die Esten im UIC nach Niederlagen gegen Lierse, Groningen und Vasas Budapest gegen Gaziantespor den einzigen Punkt (0:0). -lb
