It was only after Slovenia gained independence that Prevalje were promoted to second Division in June 1991. Despite the bad home record (7/4/5) last season was their best ever. Coach Toni Tomazic relies on a 3-5-2 system. The team's strength is the attack. Schemer Alfred Jermanis, allrounder Peter Breznik, Igor Benedejcic (formerly Rijeka), Vukasin Ristic und Ilir Silo (ALB) scored more than half of the last season's goals. The greatest talent by far is midfielder Marko Barun, who plays with Slovenia's U21 selection. In winter, Senad Tiganj, who had scored eight goals until then, went abroad. President Stanislav Taks sacrifices much time and effort for the club, which take part in a European Competition for the first time. For the UIC games they expect more than the 1,200 pectators who usually attend Korotan's home matches. Regisseur Alfred Jermanis, Allrounder Peter Breznik, Igor Benedejcic (ex-Rijeka), Vukasin Ristic und Ilir Silo (ALB) erzielten letzte Saison zusammen mehr als die Hälfte aller Tore. über das grösste Talent verfügt Mittelfeldspieler Marko Barun, ein Mitglied der U21-Auswahl Sloweniens. Senad Tiganj, der bis dahin acht Treffer erzielt hatte, zog im Winter ins Ausland. Präsident Stanislav Taks opfert viel Zeit und Kraft für den Verein, der sich erstmals an einem europäischen Wettbewerb beteiligt.
